This is a short work put together by Sergeant Lorenzo N. Smith, a Massachusetts native who joined the Canadian Army in order to fight in the First World War. Sgt. Smith, following a discharge due to shrapnel wounds, became a member of the Canadian recruitment program, speaking on tours through both Canada and the United States of America. He put together this short work in an effort to help people understand the new vocabulary springing up from the front lines. This work is difficult to find in hard copy and is a great reference for anyone who has had to dig around for definitions for Silent Suzies and Machonochie while reading first person accounts of the war.
