Found and Lost: A boy, an old barn and treasure that will change his life

After a serious injury Tommy Davis must make some changes. First, he's got to accept the fact that he's no longer the best basketball player in school. And second, he's got to find some different activities to keep him busy between seventh and eight grade. Taking over his next door neighbor's paper route is a great start. It also puts him in jeopardy with some serious criminals. And accepting a job to clean an old barn opens a whole new world to him. He discovers some relics from World War Two and uncovers an amazing true story. Meanwhile he searches for clues to the lost memories of his favorite teacher.

There are two true stories with the story. Tommy uncovers a stash of real letters written by a B-24 co-pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force. As he reads the letters, and shares them with an old friend, he learns about a 19 year-old boy who, seventy years earlier, put his life on the line - and lost. At the same time he works to help find his missing seventh grade science teacher who has suffered a serious injury. This accident and resulting disability is based upon a second real life story.
