Dr. Woodrow Morris has collected nearly 300 quotations that deal with charity, benevolence, unselfishness, and related ideas. They range in length from single line to two pages., and come from all sorts of places: the sacred writings of varous religions, proverbs, poets, philosophers, politicians, leaders of the Craft. It is a beautifully produced book, with a dozen inspirational full page illustrations, of such scenes as Shriner standing tall, the Good Samaritan, and Abou Ben Adhem. The author seems to regard his work as providing a stimulus to the exercise of charity. It may well be so. And if you want quotations about Masonic charity, this is clearly the book.
