Company 'H': A Confederate Soldier's Memoirs

COMPANY 'H' (also known as CO. AYTCH: A SIDE SHOW OF THE BIG SHOW) is a first-hand account of the Civil War told from the perspective of Sam R. Watkins, a private Confederate soldier who served in Company H of the First Tennessee Infantry from 1861-1865. Watkins' account is one of the best-known and highly regarded Civil War Memoirs, and is noteworthy in that Watkins saw action in many of the key battles of the Civil War, including Shiloh, Perryville, Chickamauga, Kennesaw Mountain, and Atlanta, among others. Watkins was only one of seven men in his company to survive the entire Civil War.
