PENGUIN PERSONS & PEPPERMINTS (Illustrated)

Walter Prichard Eaton has found a very provoking title for his new book, "Penguin Persons and Peppermints" (Wilde). That will rouse curiosity as surely as a special delivery letter. Moreover, it is not a pose. The first essay is a very delightful one on Penguin Persons, and from them Mr. Eaton goes on through a multitude of things right down to Peppermints. These are short, informal papers in different moods and most of them are the sort of thing that one cannot resist calling whimsical; yet the book is not one to pick up if you have only a few minutes to read, because it is too hard to put down.

Fascinating from beginning to end. There are few authors who have greater ability than Mr. Eaton in making his readers feel they are in intimate touch with the very purpose and thought of the writer. This volume will cover every varying mood of the reader.
