They Dance for Rain: The Hopis

The Hopi are a Native American people indigenous to the Southwestern United States. Hopi Indians believe rain is a blessing that comes through the benevolence of the Kachina supernaturals. Kachinas are great in power and fantastic in form, neither totally human nor completely animal. Some are named for their physical appearance, others for the plants or animals they represent.
