Talkin' Tico

The Spanish language as it is spoken in Costa Rica is rich with local idioms, slang and expressions unique to that country. These “tiquismos” are liberally sprinkled throughout most social conversations and learning some of this alternataive vocabulary can make hanging out with local people a lot more enjoyable.

In this book I’ve compiled 381 slang words and phrases that are commonly used in “Ticquicia” along with translations into both generic Spanish and into English, In many cases examples of usage in a sentence are provided in both languages for clarity. It provides a solid base for anyone interested in fine tuning their basic Spanish vocabulary in order to facilitate everyday conversation while visiting or living in beautiful Costa Rica.
