Snowflake

Suppose there were people who lived on a snowflake? News flash--there ARE people living on a snowflake falling from the sky. Being so small, their lives pass by in an instant from our point of view. From theirs, the world is practically motionless. It's a small world, though vast enough to them, a planet, the only world they know. It's a small-town kind of place, and they live, for the most part, peaceful contented lives, at least until they make an amazing, unsettling discovery: there are other snowflakes floating in the sky.

You'll meet an adventurous boy named Gilles, not so content with the traditional ways; his mentor, Professor Wise, the greatest scientist and richest man on Snowflake; his inventive rival, Doctor Twist; the no-nonsense Administrator of Snowflake, Miss Wood; and Sylvie, the even smarter and braver girl who befriends Gilles. These and other memorable characters will grapple with the problems of a peaceful world suddenly confronting unexpected change. Can their way of life, even their world, survive?
