Journey to Mars: The Awakening is the first book in a four part series that investigates a virus that causes the Third Manned Mission to Mars to return to Earth with something mankind is not prepared for - a Martian vampire. Jason Martin commands the mission and must make the decision to quarantine the crew to keep the virus from reaching Earth. He must take them back to Mars, conquer the existing Martians who are there and make a life for Earthmen within the catacombs of Mars.
