Blessed through an unlikely inheritance with boundless wealth, George William (“GW”) Europea initially anticipates a secure future among the affluent of the Combined Kingdoms. Unfortunately, economic woes and social unrest quickly lead to an unraveling of law and order. Mutiny in the Dwarfen watershed severs relations between the regional capitals of Reichland and Hilltonia. Military units grow restive, and their commanders discover they are astride a flaming powder keg. Officers lack the forces to meet a hostile Dwarfen population fromManchester in the west to Greenfield in the east and all the way south to Alexandria in the delta.

Serving as knight errant for the royal couple, Bolipsis and Veronaxy, GW tries to understand the deteriorating relations between the Lands of Elf and the Dwarfen watershed. Drawing upon his own financial empire, Europea & Jetour, to finance a civil project at the Fortress of Cedora and launch a banking venture, he purchases from Veronaxy the estate of Lauralea in the Green Hills region of the Elfen lands.

Rescuing the charismatic leader Aza Stäbler and GW’s girlfriend, Marietta of Whitehaven, from very different threats, GW channels his resources in a race against time to protect Aza’s emigrants in the sanctuary district and Cedora’s defenders from Elfen and Wallygog expeditionary armies. Rebellion slides into warfare with casualties and consequences. GW can always rely on his mentor Marcellus Ezelgam, his tutor Brother Hahl Einseling, his Wallygog servant Suleiman Jetour, his two boyhood friends Mattie and Drew of Green Hills, and Jeffrey and his daughter Marietta of Whitehaven. Additionally, a marvelous group of friends and acquaintances of Elfen and Dwarfen heritage lend their support to GW as he prepares for the violent collapse of the Combined Kingdoms and its recent successor, the Elfen Empire, as well as the destruction of the fortress at Cedora.

Part Two: The Collapse from Alabaster City Flawed, faithfully presents the steady maturation of George William Europea as discouraging events anneal his personality and hone his leadership skills for the challenges awaiting him in Part Three: The Resurrection.
