Sometime in the 1910s, Notion City was lost in a large Fog bank, preventing any travel from in or out of the city. When it finally cleared, the city was gone and, eventually, forgotten.
But the people inside continued to live on. After twenty years, they have learned to adapt by sharing their lives with the strange, and frightening, creatures they've found on the other side of the Fog.
In a world with thousands connected by the minutia of their lives, it would be unjust to leave any story out. Each Notion contains a separate short story, no more than five thousand words per story with illustrations. Every few are linked by some small event within Notion City.
Notion #1: Luck of the Draw
Beneath Notion City, there's a life that pulses to the tune of vice, doused in alcohol it sways to the siren song of sin. It's no wonder that all the gin joints end up down below, the stench of corruption cannot rise above the rot that decays down there.
Life is on the line when the chamber spins. Will yours be empty? One in six aren't bad odds, I'd take that bet.
