Gio was sorting through a few small jars – chrisms, smelling like sage and eucalyptus. Dirty, wrong, sacrilegious, much like the sex at the kneelers they’d be having. Gio glanced up. “Hm?”
“Rope, I need rope,” Jacob muttered, opening cabinets. They kept some around the chapel these days, just for the two of them. Proper lube could be excused less easily, plus sex using chrism was thrilling, but rope could have any number of purposes: repairs, prop in the nativity plays, tying up one’s own priest and buggering him silly…. He found it on a high shelf and pulled it down. “You’re okay with bottoming tonight?” he asked Gio, breaking his dominant role for a moment but really concerned.
Gio stepped in close, pushed the oils into Jacob’s hand and squeezed his hand around Jacob’s fist. “I trust you.” He kissed Jacob deeply, but the hand he ran through Jacob’s hair and down his back was comforting, paternal.
They returned from the harsh light of the vestry into the dim candlelight of the sanctuary. At either side of the stage were some free-standing kneelers, for people to use after taking communion. With a hand on his back, Jacob led him to the kneelers.
Gio recognized his intention immediately with a chuckle. “Yes, sir,” he said as he dropped to his knees on the kneeler.
