"Citizenship" is a first person narrative of a character, Ben Allen, who only wanted a 'normal' life after being wounded in Iraq. Another kingdom calls him; as he is thrust into adventure which represents the Christian odyssey. After being entangled in a forest of despair, Ben is rescued bu two citizens of Arlo. Arlo is the city of four rivers that is at war with an unknown foe.
After drinking from The River; Ben must train as a warrior since the land is still at war. Troubles come from learning the kingdom's laws, needing to alert a reluctant population of impending invasion, and personal challenges. Can one man stop a horde of fiends. Can little things change the entire course of a nation or world?
The book is based on II Peter 1 with symbolism woven throughout. It challenges the reader to move from 'head' knowledge' to 'heart knowledge' of spiritual truths. Our hero has to conquer many fears as he faces maturing and grows in faith.
