Xenophon's Anabasis

ANABASIS is the incredible account of Xenophon's epic journey with Cyrus' army of Greek mercenaries (the Ten Thousand) recruited to seize the Persian throne in 401 B.C. After the death of Cyrus in battle deep inside Persia, the Ten Thousand faced a difficult and dangerous fighting retreat to the Greek colonies of the Black Sea coast.
