There are people who always talk about what they're going to do "someday," like write a book, launch their own business, run a marathon, learn to play a musical instrument, or change careers. Yet "someday" never comes, and the dream just dies.
On the other hand, there are a few people who do more than just daydream. They pursue their passion and turn their dreams into reality. We often see their remarkable results and wonder: "How did they do that?" This book asks that question, and these achievers answer in their own words.
Dream It, Do It shares the stories of dozens of high achievers, from best-selling authors to multi-millionaire investors, from famous entertainers to highly-regarded statesmen, from innovative inventors to Olympic gold medalists.
Author Frank Mungeam spent 25 years in the media, interviewing high achievers. An author, marathoner and mountaineer himself, he applied these lessons as a corporate professional development trainer, helping employees discover and overcome the obstacles that were keeping them from succeeding. With a degree in Psychology from Harvard and a Masters degree in Communication and Leadership studies from Gonzaga, Mungeam draws together these experiences to present a roadmap for pursuing our passions and living our dreams.
Dream It, Do It follows these high achievers from the first flicker of an idea to the ultimate moment when they accomplished their lofty goals. The journey they traveled offers a road map for success that all of us can follow. From their stories, eight principles emerge that these dreamers followed to make their dreams come true, principles we can all use in our own lives.
Each of the eight chapters in Dream It, Do It details one of these principles. At the end of each chapter are a series of exercises to personally apply the principles.
Whether you aspire to start your own business, run a marathon, write a book, change careers, or reach a weight-loss goal, the steps and stories in Dream It, Do It provide the roadmap for setting and achieving lofty goals.
