Maintenance and Operation of Active Solar Heating Systems

A typical active solar system can be used for radiant heating, domestic hot water, heating swimming pools and countless industrial uses. They often use a rooftop collector to concentrate solar energy, a liquid medium to absorb and transfer heat, and various pumps and simple controllers move the heated liquid.

These systems have remarkable utility, even in many relatively cool regions. Some of the tests cited were conducted at Air Force installations in Washington State!
