Ascension: The Awakening

Death is only the beginning........
So discovers Lucas Wade. As he breathes his last gasps of air he calls out for his long lost love, Cassidy. Once his life is spent, he awakens to find himself in the land of Eden, a place between Heaven and Hell for those souls whose final fate has not yet been decided. Here, Lucas begins a path of rediscovery and learning so that he may earn the right to enter Heaven and be reunited with Cassidy. Unbeknownst to him, before he arrives in the afterlife, unholy actions are set in motion that will thrust him into the middle of an attempt by a renegade faction of Hell to conquer Heaven without Satan. While both sides attempt to draw him in his focus is on only one thing; reuniting with his lost love. To do so however he will have to accept that he will indeed play a large part in the first and most ancient of conflicts. However, since he arrived in Eden questions arise with no inkling of answers in sight. Who is the mysterious robed stranger that has taken an interest in him? Why has he begun to develop powers that rival the angels and demons? Where is Cassidy in all of this? And why does every angel who encounters him call him the Shaelnok Va? For Lucas, the afterlife holds more questions than answers.
