Spring-Heeled Jack: The Terror of London

SPRING-HEELED JACK is a classic Victorian piece of pulp entertainment known as a "penny dreadful." Popular in the age before radio and television, penny dreadfuls were mass market entertainment which often cost a penny (or less); most were discarded soon after publication, and are rare today. The SPRING-HEELED JACK is the novelized account of a London urban legend current in the late 19th Century: a vicious killer able to leap fantastic distances terrorizes the poorer districts of the city. In this novelization, Spring-Heeled Jack is a young man seeking revenge for a stolen inheritance. He constructs a futuristic suit and spring-boots in order to carry out his revenge.
