Seven Norse Sagas

This collection includes seven Norse sagas, Scandinavian and Icelandic tales of the Viking age which tell of voyages of discovery, epic battles, fell creatures, magic, kings, and heroes. While embellished and possessing supernatural elements, many of the Sagas have their origins in historical events. The Saga of Eirik the Red, for example, describes the Icelandic outlaw's discovery and subsequent colonization of Greenland in 986.
