Major excerpts are taken from the Civil War diaries of two North Carolina Confederate soldiers fighting in Virginia. One sees the war from the perspective of a Christian and one of the Jewish faith. Both are devoted to the Confederate Cause. Brief biographical information of the diarists is included.
