A Slave Girl's Story

A SLAVE GIRL'S STORY is a short biographical account of the early life of Kate Drumgoold, born into slavery in the 1850s. As a young girl, Drumgoold witnessed first-hand the cruelties and injustices of slavery, particularly the sale of her mother and the dispersal of other members of her family by sale and by war.
