Alex lives in a community supporting faith and family. Alex, however, dreams of getting on with life. The peace and tranquility of a quiet sea side community with close family ties is boring. Alex wants to see the world outside of the Settlement even though he is only a young teenager prone to fantasizing and adventure.
As Alex’s adventure unfolds, he attempts to protect a giant sea turtle from the butcher’s block. To protect his friend, Alex organizes the Clam Club with five other classmates. They are preparing for their entry into the IHS Academy when their world begins to unravel. Forces outside of their community begin to target their independence, challenging their faith and freedom. As events spin out of control, Alex and Amy are swept away confronting issues of life and death.
