"Lost Shadow" is story #6 in "The Bethesda Wars".
In a secret Compound in Bethesda a reluctant Father Black is about to give one of his most extraordinary and unstable Talents--Subject Kelly, also known as the Shadowman--another chance to prove he is stable enough to be released from the pyramid he had been imprisoned.
Father Black tells him there is a girl, a Talent, who must be brought into the fold. He can release his shadow to help bring the girl in...and perhaps earn his freedom.
All does not go according to plan, however, and when the body the Shadowman occupies is killed by a Scout his shadow is displaced. And it is up to his brother, Subject Atticus, to bring him back.
"Lost Shadow" brings all the characters in "The Bethesda Wars" full circle. We see how many of the characters of the earlier stories were in the background of "Branches", manipulating the outcome.
"Lost Shadow" combines all the elements of "The Bethesda Wars": a thrilling unbelievable story played out by extraordinary but still real characters.
