I decided to tell my story in a book whereby someday the book can help some people who come from poor homes and hopefully help them to change from hopelessness and despair to look to the future with hope and sense of purpose.
The main aim of this book is to offer hope, ideals, suggestions to all people disadvantage—poor people of all races; blacks, whites, Hispanics, Orientals, Jews, Catholics, Presbyterians, Arabs as well as non-believers. This book is not to criticize any particular group of people but it is to point out what I see in our society today affecting individuals, families and the society in general.
As a cab driver for 10 years in Washington Metropolitan area I can say with fairness that I have come across all aspects of our lives. There are sincere and serious problems in our society today. There are problems of drugs, prostitution, joblessness, tensions between all the races—whites, blacks and Hispanics, At the same time, I can honestly say that there is no place on earth or no country so great anywhere else than the United States of America. If you cannot make it in America, then forget it because you can never make it anywhere else in the world.
This book is going to tell you how to make it in America.
