David is Different: Explaining Aspergers to Young Children

Steven is 6 and 1/2 years old and has a brother with Aspergers Syndrome. Since this is something new for the family, he explains what Aspergers is, and how it makes his big brother, David, different than him. Steven gives examples of their differences, as well as examples of how it affects his family.

Through Steven, the author introduces a VISUAL concept of how the child with Aspergers thinks so that siblings can better understand why the Aspergers child is different. It is the intention of the author to help all family members better understand the Aspergers child.
