The Bonus

Through the eyes of Will Hardy, a WW1 veteran and newspaper reporter with recurring shellshock, and Bonnie, the young actress who loves him, we relive the tragic, violent confrontation between our peaceful, bonus-seeking veterans and the U.S. Army. We see the dramatic effects of ineffective politicians more interested in their own agendas than the needs of the American people. Then, as now, distressed, nightmare-ravaged veterans are desperate for comprehensive care and fair treatment. The unemployment rate is sky high, too many homes are lost to foreclosure, and we are challenged by continuing environmental disasters. In 2008, as in 1932, a new president campaigning on the twin promises of hope and change was elected. Will America triumph again? The drama continues.
