Of the many electronic copies of the singular cases of our friend, Sherlock Holmes, available to the general public, the absence of the original illustrations as they appeared in the Strand, between 1891 and 1904, is decisively conspicuous. Much like Watson felt for Dupin and Lecoq, we felt rather indignant at having two characters whom we had admired treated in this cavalier style. The principle people concerned are now beyond the reach of copyright law, and the texts may be made public so as to injure no one.

The Original Illustrated Hound of the Baskervilles includes every one of the original illustrations by Sidney Paget as they appeared on the first publication of this novella.
