Following the tragic death of his mother, Ethan reacts like any child under the same circumstances. Ethan became a near recluse, unable to form personal relationships. He retreated to a shed behind his house, creating wreaths made of pine cones. Ethan's father decided to take him completely out of his environment and had Ethan accompany him on a trip to the South America country of Bolivia.........a trip that would change Ethan's life for ever.

Ethan and his father arrived in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, the most modern and culturally diverse city in the country. Here Ethan is exposed to the passionate lifestyle in this part of the world. He is introduced to the exotic and erotic behavior of the people. The countryside whispered ancient chants of the mystique. Men worshiped there women as if they were their personal temples. Ethan observed all these notions of love and his mind became more open and his spirit freer. His emotions are replaced by feelings he had never before experienced.

As father and son travel from city to city and eventually to La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, Ethan opens himself up to making friends and creating relationships.
