French Lessons

Meg Clayton is the only child of an Army general. About to graduate from an exclusive private girl’s boarding high school in Alexandria, Virginia, her academic future looks pretty bleak. That is, until a stroke of good fortune changes everything. Her father gets an assignment in France and we follow her to Paris as she experiences the culture shock of her life.
This adventurous and comical tale takes place over one year in the late sixties; a time in American history when people everywhere were beginning to question inequality, oppression and the abuse of power by the government. Revolution and protest was in the air against the entitled wealthy sector of society. The Vietnam War was raging, segregation existed, males ruled the culture and a young girl’s virginity exalted. Innocence was disappearing, but the smell of reefer was everywhere. It is a coming of age story, it’s a love story that will make boomers laugh out loud, and walk down memory lane.
