Crescent Moon

Amparo, the midwife and curandera of Las Piedras, finds a crude wooden amulet snagged on a tree. A few days later, she comes across a similar pendant carved with a crescent moon, hanging around a dying man's neck. She doesn't understand the connection that she feels through these medallions and the dying man, she only knows she must follow her impulse to learn more. Her journey into the local history is perilous and surprising.
