I showed up at the address on Jason’s card at 10 minutes to 8 on Monday morning. The address was in a warehouse district of town and was a bit hard to find, but Alex and I had mapped it out the night before and I was ready.
Despite the intriguing card, I still wore my typical “work” outfit: a navy skirt suit and a white blouse. Standing at the building’s entrance, I caught my reflection in the window. I’d lost a lot of weight recently from the stress of the hunt, and the clothes looked baggy on my thin frame. Still, I liked how the navy brought out the blue in my eyes, and my hair looked clean and professional tied into a tight bun on top of my head. I smiled at my reflection, and walked in.
Inside, I instantly felt overdressed. The receptionist could have doubled for a stripper — the petite redhead wore a black latex dress that pushed her breasts nearly to her chin.
“Hi there!” the receptionist said warmly. “You must be Stacey! Jason said you’d be coming in. You excited?”
