When mature twenty-eight year old Nicole Barnes returns to college to pursue a graduate degree, she soon falls in love with Marshall Stevens, a handsome, but married, professor. Their relationship continues to grow more tense until a body is found on the campus and evidence surrounding the murder begins to point toward the professor. Nicole, while struggling with many emotions, strives to find ways to exonerate Marshall. Her efforts lead to other possibilities and motives for the murder which, in turn, place her in danger. Could the All-American quarterback who lives in a tangled web of corruption be involved? Or perhaps ruthless mobsters who exist on the fringes of college athletics? Or an ambitious football coach who would let nothing interfere with his quest for another national championship? Or maybe a jealous wife or lover? Or an over protective father? John Yantis grew up in Kansas and served as a teacher, a coach, and as an administrator in various schools within that state. Upon receiving his doctorate he served as a professor and dean at Central Michigan University. During his university career he published numerous articles in national publications and spoke to audiences around the world. He currently is involved with writing fiction and resides with his wife, Jane, at Canadian Lakes, a resort community in Mid-Michigan.
