The Dumpy Books for Children were a series of 40, small-format books selected by E. V. Lucas and, between 1897 and 1904, published by British publisher Grant Richards. After 1904, books were published by Chatto & Windus. Many contained full-color illustrations by Nellie Benson.

This ebook is the result of a hi-def scan of the original 1901 print version of the book. No changes have been made to the text, and no changes have been made to the illustrations.
