Eden Phillpotts was one of the most prolific novelist of his day, having a record of about three books a year. He has already accomplished one colossal scheme (the Dartmoor series) of work, and has projected another. As a writer, he was as closely associated with Dartmoor as Hardy was with Wessex. He has written some twenty novels about Dartmoor. "The Children of the Mist" which began the series, with the children of Dartmoor.
