Polygraph, according to many of its detractors, is about as accurate as pure chance—50-50. That assessment is misleading… and misinformed. There is much about polygraph that the public, and indeed, some practitioners of polygraph have not been made aware. This book is an attempt to outline some of the physiology and psychology behind the practice of polygraph. More than that, it explains the role of the Autonomic Nervous System—that part of one’s system over which they do not have complete and conscious control—and why a well-constructed polygraph examination is far more accurate than it has been believed.
