Come Fly With A RAVEN

Raven, a charismatic and deliberate 27-year old black corn-rows wearing ‘Boss’, is the product of a double parent home during a period this phenomenon started becoming all too uncommon within the black community. He learns the hard way having an educated father that starts off the family on the right path is not always enough. A close knit family at first, it all goes to ruin when his father dies and he’s forced to cope with a mother who doesn’t handle it as strongly as his father taught him to encounter the world. He still has to care and worry about his younger sister’s well-being even if he finds refuge outside the household. In the streets he eventually finds comfort and a strange consistency; through events beyond his control he becomes a leader and begins to get a hold of his life and the lives around him. His great sense of humanity; which in some circumstances must be ignored, in combination with his strength and wisdom serve as his ultimate guide. Raven’s focused journey takes him from the violent streets of Washington, DC to the corporate world of Cincinnati, OH.
Ever entrenched in his roots he doesn’t abandon the streets after making his transition into the corporate world. He surely proves it’s not from a lack of ability to abandon things as he’s done that several times in his personal life; first with his mother and continued with the many female acquaintances he’s had in his busy romantic life. Maybe in large part due to his youth being destroyed he now finds much solace in making a better impression on the lives of the youth around him. These young lives are generally introduced to him through the women he encounters and absorbs into his life. Although very effective at cutting the mothers loose when he becomes disappointed with them, he doesn’t take the same approach with their children. On the contrary, much to the happiness of the children involved, he gives them more time and attention. Partly because he understands the stress of their upbringing, he carries a feeling of necessity to balance out the negativity they endure with the positivity he emits. Through their involvement with Raven they can see the fruits of wisdom, hard work and dedication to the pursuit of success; whether the pursuit lies in the light or dark side of life. The fruits include wealth, companies, houses, vehicles, travels and the admiration of his team of four. But…the fruits also follow a light and dark path. The dark fruits include jealousy, envy, hate and theft. When Raven doesn’t follow his internal guide that made him a great leader in the first place he must once again confront great Pain.

All who read Raven’s story will respond to it, one way or another. Not just from relating to his passion in raising the family around him, his desire to enjoy the fruits of his labor or the fortitude to conquer all obstacles that graze his path; but because his story is comprised of two main ingredients that transcend time and cultures…Wisdom and Authenticity.
