I Am Mrs. Santa Claus

Cleone Lyvonne Reed worked as Mrs. Santa Claus in Nordstrom's downtown Seattle in 1998 and quips that she had six husbands for four weeks. The location was formerly that of the Santa's Studio for Frederick Nelson's, so the lines of people were continuous throughout the entire season. Reed wrote free-style poetry about her experiences: the challenges, the touching moments, the funny stories. She includes 22 colored photos in her little book of 52 pages. What questions did the children ask? What was it like to have six different husbands, all with different personalities and ego needs. How did she get herself in trouble? How did she upstage Santa? What happened when a disabled man tried to storm in past the long line to see Santa? How did she handle children who couldn't wait to see Santa because the ferry was scheduled to take them home? Working with an infant as young as 28 hours old and a woman 94, groups numbering as high as 30 for one photo shoot, dogs, children and adults of all ages, adults who were intoxicated, children who were scared, men who were reluctant, Mrs. Santa Claus was compassionate, fun, loving, and respectful of everyone. This is just a little book, but it is sure to entertain and enlighten.
