In this YA short story, thirteen-year-old Carrie moves to Yankton, South Dakota, to help her mom take care of her ailing grandmother. On her first day of school she meets Susie, who quickly becomes her best friend. But it doesn’t take Carrie long to figure out there is something strange about Susie, and that best friends aren’t always as they seem.
