Infusion Management Technology: Real-World Lessons to Demonstrate Value

Healthcare is experiencing a paradigm shift as it relates to medical devices. A medical device today can no longer be viewed as an isolated entity. Its value increases dramatically when it is a component of an aggregate process that includes clinical documentation. In the case of infusion management, the connection between smart infusion pumps and the electronic health record creates a closed-loop process in which clinician error is removed, documentation occurs in real-time, and simplicity, thoroughness, and transparency are enhanced.
