Contemporary Indian Writers in English: Critical Observations

Indian writing in English is in its Himalayan heights these days. Our writers have set milestones in the field of poetry, fiction and drama. Now Indian authors in English are no longer dependent on their British counterparts, rather they are flourishing by leaps and bounds by dint of their own caliber and competency. Writers, like Salman Rushdie, R.P. Jhabvala, Arundhati Roy, Kiran Desai and Aravind Adiga have to their credit a number of national and international awards and accolades.
