Three harrowing short stories, each disturbing in its own way. In one, a young boy must choose among friend, family, foe, with long-term consequences that can't possibly be seen. In the second, a man's violence marks him in unexpected ways. In the third, a boy who should be asleep, instead hears his father's confession (and his lies) to someone neither of them knows.
