Flow Like A River: Romance

Carol sticks close to her Ohio home and lives by her parents’ rules, that is, until she falls for Tammy. The two go with Tammy’s family on a canoe trip in Michigan where the moods of the Manistee River become a metaphor for Carol’s developing romantic feelings. With Tammy by her side, Carol realizes it is time to decide between family expectations and how she imagines her adult life. Short story.
