I have had three aims in preparing the following book: first, to answer some theoretical questions concerning the hows, whys, and whatabouts of art; second, to offer practical suggestions to mothers and teachers about showing art to children; third, to supply information about the most desirable art material for children. The repertory of the art dealers is constantly increasing, and the time will no doubt soon come when all the important pictures of public collections will be available in popular reproductions.

This book concerns itself with a child's delight in art, the vital questions concerning art, the permanent effect of good and bad art on the taste, art study, and art enjoyment.
