WATTS is a URBAN ACTION/DRAMA series:
A Devastating Earthquake destroys Most of the West Coast forcing the unprepared residents of one of the last cities standing to come together to fight overwhelming odds to survive.
Why did I write WATTS? Because when you stop and think about it, everybody does not live in Kansas. Kansas has roughly a population of just under 3 million people. In 2012 the population of the United States hit 312 million with the vast majority of this number living in or in close proximity to major cities. Yet, have you ever considered that nearly all of the Post-Apocalyptic books, TV series, and films take place in rural America? Could that be the reason why most of Americans don’t relate to these shows, hence lower ratings?
The series centers on a poor community in WATTS, CA, where the lives of a small group of resilient inner city residents change in an instant in the aftermath of a series of cataclysmic earthquakes that destroys most of the West Coast leaving only a hand full of cities standing.
With collapsed freeway bridges totally cutting this one neighborhood off from the rest of the city, the residents face insurmountable odds in trying to treat the wounded, rescue the trapped, and put out the fires while at the same time trying to establish some kind of contact with the outside world for much needed help.
This first episode begins when JAY, the war hardened Marine on leave reluctantly returns to Watts to visit his Mother before he is to ship off for a long overseas tour.
