The elements, which lead to the demise of the youth culture, are right in front of us. They are found not just in school, T.V. shows and films but also at home and by example. The longer we do nothing to change the food that is in the cafeterias and the programming that is on youth oriented television channels, the longer this mixed message will spew violent side effects. In the middle of an early summer night, a young teenage girl has been kidnapped. She is hoping one of her captors might ease up and decide to let her go. She gets it now. She should have been nicer. Her defense behind the tears is that she only did what she knew.
Vincent Riley hopes to be your next big media star, as he and his buddy Mark Joplin have vicious plans. The isolation and suburban breeding has caused a warped perspective and depression in the boys. One day Vince decides he has been bullied too much. With the help of his few friends, he kidnaps the head cheerleader and the most popular girl in school, Kayley Richardson.
Todd Blackwell is a county police officer who has recently been promoted to detective. Most people in the town think the kidnapping is a school prank. Todd discovers that it may be more dangerous than anyone had thought.
The realization puts Todd on the boy's trail, exposing the tribes and social mores at Cherokee High School in suburbia, anywhere, U.S.A.. It is the same school where Todd was a basketball phenom. These events force him to look at things from another perspective, a place where he never stood. The discovery of Vincent's journal in a run down cabin leads Todd to his deadly intentions. It all culminates in the revelation of Vincent's desires to have a local news anchor film his hostage situation. He is trying to divert attention from something bigger.
It will not be until it is too late that Todd will discover the boys true plan of revenge. Down a dark tunnel leading into the basement of the school, explosives are lined up waiting to explode. It is a quiet Monday morning in June. Exam day.
