This is one of Burgesses' many charming "Green Meadow" books. In this story, it's winter, and Granny and Reddy Fox are trying to find enough to eat. They think about breaking into Farmer Brown's hen house -- in broad daylight. Will they try it, or find another place to find food? Adventure, action, great illustrations, and a moral dilemma; what more could a child ask?
