Dog Days and Dragonflies

Dog Days and Dragonflies is a collection of stories and poems based on family, friends, and faith in Southern Appalachia. Most of the pieces are about growing up in Southwestern Virginia, childhood memories reflected upon in adulthood. From nostalgic pieces involving day-to-day memories of grandparents and great-grandparents such as "A Day With Granny" to bittersweet stories like "The Funeral," to stories withholding truths such as "Does Your Papaw Love You," to humorous pieces like "Learning to Drive," Dog Days and Dragonflies has something for just about every reading taste. There are stories and poems for good times and also pieces for times you wish were better. All in all, the collection is about life in its many moments and guises, and hopefully reaches audiences whether or not they grew up in Appalachia or the South.
