Echoes

Echoes is book number two of four in the Detective Series.

Cornelia Osgood, Oz to most, has landed the highest profile case of her career. Deemed by the press, "the Brother's Keeper case," Oz has been hired by Rick Riley's defense team to find some proof, any proof, that he did not kill his brother, Gary. Rick also says he wasn't having an affair with his brother's wife, Marissa. Nobody believes him on either count, Oz included, but believing him isn't important to her. What is important is that her bill gets paid, and it does: thanks to Marissa, the woman Rick's "not sleeping with."

Finding evidence that Rick Riley didn't do it, especially when he most likely did do it, is difficult, and equally difficult is Oz's relationship with her long time friend, Abby O'Leary. What started out as a one night stand in Oz's mind turns into two nights... then three... and before Oz knows it, she's into something more serious than she was looking for.

On top of all that, Oz's pregnant sister, Josie, is also getting closer to her due date, and she's not exactly a happy camper about how her life is going either. When tragedy strikes their family, Oz is pushed past the breaking point, and something has to give...
