Jane Field

"Jane Field" is a strong, original novel by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman, who earlier, was known chiefly as a writer of short stories. The story is written as a powerful character study of an apparently hard, unloving, Puritanical New England woman, whose heart leads her out of the beaten paths of rectitude.

This edition includes 14 illustrations from the original Harper & Brothers edition of 1883 and the frontispiece is a photogravure of the author.
