MASKED AND GOWNED

Dr. Lawrence W. Norton in MASKED AND GOWNED, The Making of a Surgeon, recounts stories of his experiences from admission to medical school through a decade of post-graduate surgical training with humor, knowledge and compassion. Along the way he introduces the reader to such colorful characters as demanding medical professors and surgical bosses to indigent patients, who frequented general hospitals’ emergency rooms. Balancing professional commitment with the needs of his wife and three small daughters, he describes sacrifices and joys in becoming a well-trained surgeon.
